  1. I am looking for a Sock Doll pattern that my Great Grandma found in an old Seventeen Magazine many years ago. Would you be able to direct me to where I might such a thing?

  2. Laura Lee, First start going through "The First Colleen Corby Fan Community" albums located at the corbyfans website at multiply dot com, starting around the years you think the pattern was printed. Meanwhile, I'll peruse the site and look for it myself and get back to you. I seem to remember something about Seventeen magazine and a sock doll. I'll email you my findings, ok?

  3. Laura, I found it! Go to my corbyfans website at corbyfans.multiply.com and click on Photos and page through until you come to the album called "Seventeen, 12/1952". Click on it to open it and page through the pictures until you come to the one(s) named "doll". In order to enlarge it, click on "slideshow", then right click "View Image", then click on the picture that comes up to be sure it is at the largest image. It's easier than it sounds. The dolls talked about in this December 1952 Seventeen magazine are the sock dolls you asked about. I found the Seventeen magazine vintage doll kit at ebay and included pictures of that. Enjoy!

  4. Hi,

I am a university student writing my senior thesis on teen culture from 1946 - 1964.

One of my chapters is on Seventeen Magazine, and I came across your Flickr account, which has one of the most impressive collections of magazine covers I've seen on the internet.

I used to use your Multiply site to look at individual covers, but unfortunately, that's closed down. Would the scans of the covers be on any other site? If not, would it be possible for me to ask if I could have some scans of specific covers. I promise to cite your online collection and I would be eternally grateful for your help.

    Please let me know ASAP!

My contact information is chuie@princeton.edu if you would like to reply.

    Best,
    Christina
